Jessica and Amanda were engaged at Chateau LaRoche. Jessica told us she proposed to Amanda because she is more indecisive and jokingly called herself the “groom” of the couple.
The couple met on the high school bowling team in 2005 and remained friends until starting to date in 2010. Jessica didn’t “come out” to her family until she was officially with Amanda because she knew this relationship was something special and worth the difficulty of coming out. They are blessed with an overwhelmingly accepting and supportive group of family and friends.
They legally married on July 29, 2014 in downtown Chicago. They had a beautiful commitment ceremony at Burnet Woods Bandstand in Cincinnati on July 26, 2014 where they wrote their own vows and planned their ceremony to fit their personality and lifestyle. Amanda unexpectedly lost her mother in 2013, and they included something very special for her in the ceremony.
This year, Jessica starts law school in August and Amanda will be joining the Navy Reserves. They have two dogs, Jack and Lewey, and are living our happily ever after with every single day that passes!
