Obtaining a Marriage License in Iceland

You should start obtaining the necessary permits and prepare any documents that will be required a couple of months before the planned wedding. This includes residence permits or visas to prove that you are legally staying in Iceland. You will also need a valid passport and a certificate of marital status. There is no fee for the license, but you must file it at least two weeks before the wedding.
