Ireland made history in May 2015 when a referendum on marriage equality was held. The citizens of Ireland voted to make same-sex marriage legal, making them the first country in the world to legalize marriage equality through a popular vote.

Obtaining a Marriage License in Ireland

In Ireland, you have to give a minimum of three months notice to a Registrar. Make an appointment by contacting your local registration office. The fee for marriage notification is Ä200.
