Find Gay-Friendly Wedding Vendors in Las Vegas
Getting Married in Las Vegas
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, except for the memory of your wedding. While most people think of drive-thru wedding chapels and Elvis impersonators, there is plenty more to Las Vegas. The only limits are your budget.
Throw a reception at a casino, take in a show with your family, go for a helicopter ride above the neon signs, and take tons of photos along the Las Vegas strip.
Las Vegas is one of the hottest wedding destinations, so start planning as early as possible – especially if the majority of your guests will be traveling from out of town.
The History of Same-Sex Marriages in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is known for being a hotspot for entertaining weddings, but same-sex unions were not always welcome. A ban on same-sex marriage was approved by voters in 2000 and again in 2002. Domestic partnerships and same-sex unions were recognized by the state in 2009, and then finally same-sex marriages were legally recognized starting in October of 2014, after a federal district court judge issued an injunction against Nevada’s enforcement of its ban.
