Gay Bride Diaries
Dearly Beloved,
I discovered that the last “Ice Age” movie has some great wedding advice. The sloth character was shocked when the mammoth said she wanted to “wing” her wedding. The sloth said, “It’s the happiest day of your life. You don’t wing it! You seize it, cherish it, and strangle it with good intentions!” And that’s my simple advice to you: Strangle it with good intentions.
Random Wedding thought of the week:
I wonder what the percentages of how many people plan their wedding vs. how many “wing it.”
Quote from my memoir, “Diary of a Gay, Pregnant Bride”:
We didn’t know if our wedding party or witnesses were allowed to stand up with us and the Mayor, so there might not be a place to put our flowers while we exchanged rings. Many of the details were still unknown to us while we were planning. The anal planner in me didn’t sit well with that.
Questions to Consider:
Do you like to “wing it?” What things can you plan and not wing? How can you seize your wedding day?
Did you know?
“Carpe Diem” means seize the day. Enjoy the present. Don’t worry about the future. Live for the moment. Make the most of today. Make the most of your wedding day.
Good Advice:
All we can do is try for the best, shoot for the stars. Even if we don’t make it there, it should be closer than if we don’t try much at all. Keep a plan. Strangle it till it works.
Pride, Plan, and Plan some more,
