Michelle & Robyn Lytle of Michelle Lytle Photography in Chicago sent us these beautiful photos from Jackie & Victoria’s wedding. These photos really capture the raw emotion and happiness of their day.
Jackie & Victoria currently live in New Orleans and decided to have their wedding in Chicago because Victoria is from Chicago and it was important for her parents and siblings to attend. Jackie’s mother and best friend were willing to travel to wherever they decided to wed. Also, same-sex marriage is legal in Illinois but not in Louisiana.
They had 30 guests in attendance. Victoria bought a wedding dress online that she fell in love with. However, when it arrived it didn’t fit and a graduate school colleague completely revamped the dress.
The brides advice to other same-sex couples planning their wedding is to divide and conquer different projects to make wedding planning less stressful. Victoria worked out the day of transportation and Jackie arranged the location and venue. If you figure out what you really want and go from there it’s much more manageable. Try not to get caught up in the momentum and everyone else’s excitement because it’s YOUR DAY. And really, it’s just a day. An awesome day, but your marriage itself is more important.
They are enjoying newlywed life and love calling each other “my wife.”
